Federico Salvitti
Create Your Azure Free Account Today | Microsoft Azure Now that Parallel has decided to cut their trial down to 2 weeks and quadruple their subscription cost, can you help us find an equally easy VM for Mac we can use? What other platform would you recommend? 1 Want to know more?
Claire
Hi Fede, Apart from the complexity of the initial set-up, which would be far superior to Parallels/Virtual Box, Azure would also be a much more expensive solution. There is a free trial, based on credits, but it would only last a few days. For intel-based macs (not M1/2), the free virtual box VM would be fine. For M1/2 (non-intel) macs, where parallels may be necessary, if the free-trial is not sufficient, a student discount subscription to Parallels can be purchased: Buy Parallels Desktop for Mac - Student discount | Apple M1, M2 series Want to know more? Claire
With the student discount, Parallels costs $49 a year, and obviously can be used for any windows application, not just Rulex. The cheaper alternative is to install Rulex Platform on a windows machine in a university lab the students have access to. Want to know more?
